Water Recede as Fast As They Rise

Don't Let The Weatherman, or Woman, Plan Your Weekend!

🌊 Elkhorn Creek Update 🌊

A quick rise can grab your attention—but don’t forget how quickly it can fall.

Elkhorn Creek often recedes just as fast as it rises. A storm upstream might spike levels in a matter of hours, only for them to drop again by the next day. It’s one of the many things that makes paddling Elkhorn both beautiful and unpredictable.

βœ… Conditions change daily—sometimes hourly

βœ… We monitor it constantly, so you don’t have to

βœ… We float the creek before scheduled trips to check for strainers

βœ… And for those who like to see the data themselves:

πŸ‘‰ Check the USGS gauge here

(***We can add whatever gauge you like****)

Water levels can vary a lot depending on where you are along the creek—what’s high in one spot might be low in another.

➑️ Always check before you paddle

➑️ When in doubt, call the shop—we’re happy to help. Safety is our number one priority

Paddle smart. Paddle safe. Elkhorn will be ready when you are.
