Kali Sanders is our employee of the week this week. Kali is an intern for us here at Canoe Kentucky, coming to us from Illinois State University, where she has wrapped up her degree in Recreation, only needing to complete her internship. Interns at CKY are asked to do "a little of everything". We ask this of them so that they are able to get a well rounded view of what our business, and our industry, is like. And Kali has done just that, and done it well. She has worked in the role as Customer Service, both in Peak's Mill and Downtown. She has been a camp counselor on our Overnight Green River Camp. She has been a guide for numerous groups, including the Kentucky Refuge Ministry, where she worked with 12 youth all coming to the US as refugees, seeking asylum from their home countries. She has thrown boats, folded life jackets, counted paddle, and much, much more.
What we has seen mostly about Kali that qualified her for Employee of the Week is her drive and willingness to always jump in and keep busy. Busy days are easy to keep busy, but not so busy day,s... not so much. She is always moving and doing something. We look forward to what she has in store for her internship project, which we ask all interns to do. It must be something that we can use in the future, so either a program, trip, camp idea, etc. Teaser; she is going to be offering cardboard canoe regatta's!
Congrats to Kali! We hope we are able to have her around for a while here at CKY, but where her future goes, we know from experience, is going to be bright!
