Elkhorn Creek Rentals

The Elkhorn Creek is the paddling gem of Kentucky! It has it all; whitewater, easy moving rapids, great fishing, remote picnic spots, clear swimming holes! There is a reason most people say it is the most popular paddling stream in the state.

We have been offering rentals on the Elkhorn since 1981. We are the premiere outfitter on the creek. Come enjoy a canoe, kayak, tandem kayak, fishing kayak or raft. NEW for 2020... OVERNIGHT TRIPS on the creek!

Kentucky River Rentals

The Kentucky River holds much more consistent water throughout the hot and dry days of summer, which makes this a great option when a trip down the Elkhorn would involve lots of scooting and dragging over rocks. Perfect for beginners and groups with less confident or younger paddlers. Experience floating restaurants and Downtown Frankfort.

The types of boats available for rental on the Kentucky River are:

  • Solo Kayaks

  • Tandem (2-person) Kayaks

  • Canoes

  • Stand Up Paddleboards

KY River & Buffalo Trace Tour

This trip includes a guided rental on the KY River, lunch, and a special tour of Buffalo Trace. We paddle as a group with the guide through Lock and Dam #4, where you will learn some interesting history about the area and see views that can only be seen from the river.

We will then dock at Buffalo Trace and travel by vehicle to the historical grounds  for a catered BBQ lunch, 45 min tour, and  tasting before our return trip on the river. This trip will last around 4 hours.

Brewery Twilight Paddle Tour

NEW! Join us on this partnership tour with West 6th Brewing! This tour includes a guided trip down Elkhorn Creek, West 6th Farm Tour, and a tasting. Complimentary glass included!

We begin with the paddle trip and end back at the farm. Bring a picnic lunch or buy from one of the food trucks, but plan on making a great evening after your paddle at the West 6th Farm!
